Dining Out

It’s hard to not feel at home in Sweet Melissa’s

Sweet Melissa’s offers a relaxing afternoon brunch with two comforts: food and setting. With whimsical chandeliers, alluring warm colors and local artwork hung on the walls, it’s hard not to feel at home while dining from the expansive menu and people-watching through the wall-sized windows looking onto the street.

Diners can create their own omelets or breakfast platters or order from the menu of Reubens, burgers and more. Delicious yogurt pancakes are one of the many items on the $5 kids menu, along with “Peek-a-boo” eggs (“two fried eggs hiding in French toast”).

And Sweet Melissa’s seems to have a soft spot for cute babies and toddlers — their pictures are displayed on the “Sweet Babes” wall, found next to the entrance.

127 E. Court Square, Decatur. 404-370-1111. www.sweetmelissas.com/.
