This beautiful picture book gives a child’s-eye view of nature, season by season, in poetry form. Illustrated in mixed media, this lush book will make you and your child want to run outdoors and experience first hand all the wonders captured within its pages!
Outside Your Window: A First Book About Nature, by Nicola Davies and Mark Hearld, $19.99, Candlewick. Recommended for ages 3-7.

A boy and a robot meet in the woods and become fast friends. When Bot powers down, Boy tries everything to revive him (applesauce? reading a story?) to no avail. When Boy powers down (don’t worry, he’s only sleeping) Bot’s attempts to revive him include an oilcan and a visit to the Inventor. Will the Inventor be able to fix Boy?
Boy and Bot, by Ame Dyckman and Dan Yaccarino, $16.99, Random House. Recommended for ages 3-5.

Both titles available at the Little Shop of Stories, 133A East Court Square, Decatur, 404-373-6300, www.littleshopofstories.com.
