Ria’s Bluebird Cafe perfect for mixed party

I refused to believe there was anyone who didn’t know about Ria’s, and so I wasn’t even going to mention it. Lo and behold, I found someone who hadn’t tasted the incredible shallot vinaigrette over a totally kid-friendly brunch at Ria’s.

There are no gimmicks here: no kids’ menu, not even sure if there are crayons. But my daughter has had both temper tantrums and potty training accidents on the patio at Ria’s without so much as a stink-eye from the staff. Not your usual pancakes and French toast. Perfect place for a mixed breakfast party (vegans and carnivores will equally love the menu) and a must for Southern staples like fish and grits and biscuits and gravy.

Totally unpretentious and delicious, Ria’s is worth the wait you are likely to have for brunch on the weekend and feels like a special little secret on quiet weekday mornings.

Hours: 7 days a week from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. (breakfast all day; lunch after 11 a.m.)
Vegetarian-friendly: veggie and vegan friendly — too many choices to even suggest!
Your kids will love: biscuits with homemade jam, buttermilk pancakes with caramelized bananas, sweet potato cakes
You will love: casual atmosphere, quick service, veggie riblet, bionic breakfast, incredible daily specials!
Prices: $8 breakfasts, $9 sandwiches, large enough portions to take home leftovers

421 Memorial Drive, Atlanta, 404-521-3737. www.riasbluebird.com.
